Private Hire Drivers

English Language Requirement from 1st October 2016

 

Transport for London (TFL) and the mayor’s office have updated the English language requirement for drivers wishing to renew or apply for a new license. Drivers will now need a certificate proving B1 proficiency in English, combined with geographical knowledge of London. ‘Anyone who does not have the appropriate level of English will not be granted a licence.[1]

 

The London Language Foundation is pleased to offer existing and potential drivers English Language tuition to help you prepare for and pass your B1 exam.

 

Special teaching package for private hire drivers:

 

Option 1 (£300 plus exam fees):

 

Duration: 1 month (4 weeks = 40 Class Hours).

 

·        Ten hours per week (Day and evening options)

 

·        Four week programme

 

·        Class exercises

 

·        Speaking, listening and writing English

 

·        Exam preparation

 

·        Free University of Oxford- English level test

 

·        Course attendance certificate

 

Option 2 (£400 plus exam fees)

 

Duration: 1 month (4 weeks = 60 Class Hours).

 

15 hours per week (Day and evening options)

 

·        Four week programme

 

·        Class exercises

 

·        Speaking, listening and writing English

 

·        Exam preparation

 

·        Free University of Oxford- English level test

 

·        Course attendance certificate

 

 

 

Option 3 (one to one) tuition from £30 per hour

 

·        Class exercises

 

·        Speaking, listening and writing English

 

·        Exam preparation

 

·        Free University of Oxford- English level test

 

·        Course attendance certificate
